Enough of the past...

While the past year may be interesting to remember, there just isn't time to sit around and ruminate on everything that has happened. Get over it already.

Life in the brewhouse couldn't be crazier. We are brewing, bottling and sniffing glue like crazy. We have to find some kind of used machine that will apply the glue to the labels if we are going to continue hand labeling for any extended period of time. This is just ridiculous. There will be no brain cells left in the brewhouse if we sniff any more glue. Whoever heard of an organic brewery where the brewers have to breathe in toxic glue fumes?

Jeff Crosslin has joined our ranks, pounding the pavements for tap accounts. He has already secured us a tap at the Shadowbrook. Look for our IPA on tap.

Galen's birthday party was a good time on Saturday night - drinking the BRAND NEW ORGANIC HEFEWEIZEN on the top of Galen's mountain, listening to Jesse jam on the guitar and tell jokes, and trying not to fall off the mountain into the abyss of the redwoods.

Our two year old son, Alden's, birthday party was a nightmare and not even BEER could save it. The rain started on Saturday night and didn't let up until long after the party ended on Sunday evening, so 'picnic in the park' turned into mayhem in our house. Twenty caged and crazy kids under the age of four managed to turn our house into an insane asylum, but I think they had fun. Of course his favorite new toy - a very loud pretend chainsaw.

Copies of The Celebrator showed up on Tuesday and we were surprised to see a great write-up by Mark Conley, on our brewery and the local beer beat in Santa Cruz. Can you believe it? Santa Cruz is starting to get a reputation as a 'beer town' - who would have thought?

We have a busy weekend. We will be in Avila on Saturday for the California Festival of Beers. Sunday is our 1 Year Anniversary party - plenty of beer and celebration.

Of course the tasting bar will be open all weekend - and what could be a better FATHER'S DAY GIFT or GRADUATION GIFT, then a GROWLER of the brand new HEFEWEIZEN or a new DEVOUT T-SHIRT? (Shameless merchandising on my blog!)

Don't forget to get your tickets for the Book Group Expo! It is coming up soon and will be an amazing event.

If any of you have thoughts or memories of our past year send them to my email and I will post them on the blog. emily@santacruzmountainbrewing.com
