Ginger's Winter Warmer
Twas the night before….

GINGER HAS ARRIVED!!!
Just in time for the holidays!
Brewer, Chris Breaux, has dreamt of Ginger since he first started brewing with the company. A sultry elixir of ginger and lightly roasted malts, he concocted this ale with one thing in mind. Ginger. Smooth on approach, spicy on your lips, and warming you where it counts. The warmth and holiday spice of Ginger, will compliment all of your favorite seasonal dishes, roasted turkey, pumpkin pie and figgy toffee pudding. ABV 6.4

SAUSAGE FEST 2008!!!
SAUSAGEFEST RETURNS TO SANTA CRUZ
On October 4, 2008 from 2p.m. until 7p.m. Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing will be paying their respects to the sausage at their second annual SAUSAGEFEST. This year they will be grilling up Corralitos sausages and serving them in Kelly’s French Bakery, Parker House rolls. Behind the scenes, the brewers have also been working on their homemade condiments; freshly fermented coriander sauerkraut, IPA whole grain mustard and Devout Stout catsup. Also, fresh apple cider, popcorn, and cold delicious Gizdich Apples!
There’s a new Brewster in town! Kelly Vaillancourt, Good Times photographer and self proclaimed, ‘Libation Specialist’ muscles her way into the brewery with a new beer. Kelly’s ESB will be released at the SAUSAGEFEST and only available at the brewery. This ESB recipe blends seven different malts and four hop varieties and is sure to compliment the fall weather and sausages.
Get up and dance! For the first time ever, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing has obtained a sound permit! The GARY SMITH BLUES BAND will have beer and sausage lovers, moving and grooving. There’s Gary, the “Godfather” of Bay Area blues harmonica and Mike Mongiello on the guitar, along with the rest of the group to get you off your tail.
This event is sure to be a good time. Save gas, stay in town, drink beer, boogie down and pay your respects to the SAUSAGE.

Poor Man's Hop Engine!
You may have noticed that my blogging really comes to a standstill during the Summer. I have one good reason why: The boys are out for SUMMER! We're like a whirling dervish. Working, and on vacation and sucking the creative energies right out of me.
I haven't even had time to update on all of the amazing festivities that took place in our beer world... maybe I'll be able to recap later.
In the meantime, I thought I'd post what I'm calling the Poor Man's Hop Engine. We were in Portland for a family wedding and hoping to get to the Horse Brass for some beer out of the hop engine. Having such a good time at my uncle's farm, we never got off Sauvie's Island. He did; however, create a hop engine of his own - with hops grown from his farm.
We drank 'Session' beer through this fine piece of machinery and boy was it a treat! Really picked up the fresh hop oils.
Even my grandpa loved it. What do you expect from a beer crafting family?
