Did I mention that it was VERY SNOWY!
North Peak Brewing - My mom and I shared the sampler which included two seasonal ales - a coffee stout and a red lager. The flagship ales were a lager, pale, red, porter, and a stout. All of the beers were very good, clean, stylist beers. The coffee stout stood out in my mind as well as the dark lager. The coffee flavor was subtle but detectable and delicious. Beers aside, the most memorable thing about our experience was the food. There was an amazing blue cheese, pecan, and cherry spread with warm wheat bread that blew us away. We shared a rib eye that had been marinated in porter and the famous Michigan cherries. Whoaaa. Too good. They should consider a sour cherry porter. All in all, a good experience.
Union Street Station - Upon the recommendation from a good friend we hit the Union Street Station for a beer. They had Bells on tap - an award winning microbrew. Though they usually have Oberon on tap, this visit they had Bell's Amber and their Winter White on tap. Being that it was freezing ass cold outside and feeling like a darker ale, I had the Amber. If I lived in Michigan, Bells would be my beer of choice! I can't wait for my sister's next performance! Union Station, here I come.
