The IPA has been racked and kegged, this time with better filter results. We didn't lose any beer and we didn't have to change the filter pads at any time during the process. We threw a hopback filter filled with hops in the line and that likely did the trick. The beer will take a few days to settle out, intensify and carbonate. We have plenty of cold storage so we don't have to sell 'green' beer, which gives us more of a true microbrew quality.
Two pallets of bottles arrived yesterday, so the challenge today will be figuring out the bottling line. We are still hoping to open this weekend - if the ABC delivers on their word - and it would be great to have a bunch of the beer bottled and ready for sale.
The store front and bar are set up - the kegerator has left our garage and has been relocated under the bar. This is somewhat problematic for the beer drinkers at our home. Just another reason to get going on the bottling line.
Chad's parents are coming this weekend and our youngest son, Alden, is turning one! Lots of excitement.
The Farmer's Market on Friday drew a big crowd even though the event is still small. Just a handful of family farms in the parking lot of Kelly's. Fresh fish and lots of strawberries! We had several curious people at the brewery, and if we can get ourselves a sign, Fridays may be our biggest 'tasting' day of the week.
There is still lots to do - working on the labels - approval, printing, finding the money to get them printed. We have to buy so many at once - and they don't come cheap. And of course, we have to get our printed/promotional materials together. It is time to let the world know - 'Here we are!'
Pictures soon. Cheers.
