Craft Brew Convention

While the rest of the craft brewers were descending on Philadelphia last week, sampling each others brews and discussing ways to get that 10% of the market share, we were still knee deep in construction and keg cleaning, praying everynight that the next day might bring us a license, permit, or certification. Don't I sound like a broken record?

We have been in pursuit of a great opening band, and after seeing Rock Bottom Blues last night at Moe's Alley - we were starstruck. We spoke with the lead singer last night, Codi Binkley, and we got a great feeling. What an amazing band! We were blown away. More than we expected. So, we begin planning our opening events.. and there in Kelly's Bakery at lunch, Zakk Murphy, the bass player from the band strikes up a conversation with us about the brewery not knowing that we were there last night looking to hire his band for the opening. It turns out that he works for Bonny Doon Vineyard and gave me some pointers for how to plan the event, get the permits necessary, etc. It seems meant to be.

Everything is still moving along at a steady pace. Each day, inching closer to our first batch and dreaming of the day when our personal credit will be redeemed. I am scheduled to meet with the accountant next week, have to hustle to get the papers in order!

Mark Sanchez took a photo yesterday of Alden chewing on a piece of electrical wire under a 12 ft. ladder holding Chris Pierce from Spiess Electric. What a sight. We need baby hard hats for Alden and Ethan.

Our favorite plumbers were back - Kim and Miguel, so I caught them clowning around by their truck. Apparently in Kim's scientific study, I was the only woman to say that a man with a zz-top beard is just as 'desirable' as any other man - and therefore, he has shaved his beard.
