Been Awhile

Well, we had to put the brew business on hold last week because we had family visiting, our son's 3rd birthday and halloween, but it feels like it has been much longer. It is time to get back to business. Our big trip begins this Saturday morning when we leave for Chico and then up to the Pacific Northwest on a grand tour of breweries ending with the Brew Exam at UC Davis two weeks from today. I don't think Chad is ready for it, but he doesn't seem too worried.

My packet of information arrived from the Small Business Development Center. I am going to start plugging away at the business plan and attend a couple of workshops. I want to get hooked up with a retired brewer who would be willing to give us some feedback on our plan and the brewing business in general. Cabrillo college offers something of that nature.

The 2 batches of IPA are ready - each with a different yeast. It is probably time to start producing our own yeast. The lager is still in cold storage, bottom fermentation.

Ten gallons of beer were polished off at our son's birthday party. I overheard one of the dads saying, "You know it is a great 3 year old's party when the beer runs out."
